TL;DR: If you want your business website built for you, WebZum asks a few questions and builds a finished multi-page site in about five minutes, with the copy, photos and a visitor chatbot already on it. You see it free before you pay, then it’s $19/mo (Basic) or $34/mo (Professional, your own domain), month to month, with a 30-day money-back guarantee on every plan. Wix pricing in 2026 is $17, $29, $39 or $159 a month on yearly plans paid in full up front. Wix doesn’t list its month-to-month prices on the plans page; you see them at checkout (Wix, checked October 27, 2026).

How much does Wix cost per month?
Wix has a free plan and four paid site plans. Here’s what Wix’s plans page showed for the US on October 27, 2026 (Wix plans):
| Wix plan | Price (yearly plan) | Paid up front | Storage | Payments and booking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 500 MB | No |
| Light | $17/mo | $204 a year | 2 GB | No |
| Core | $29/mo | $348 a year | 50 GB | Yes |
| Business | $39/mo | $468 a year | 100 GB | Yes |
| Business Elite | $159/mo | $1,908 a year | Unlimited | Yes |
The fine print matters here. Wix says “displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions, paid in full at the time of purchase,” that “additional subscription periods are available,” and that prices “do not include applicable taxes, which are determined according to your billing address.” The final price shows up “on the purchase page, before payment is completed” (same page). Wix’s own pricing guide says the same thing: the monthly rate “changes with the period you pick, so check the total on the purchase page before paying” (Wix Blog).
So the $17 you see is really $204 paid on day one. If you want to pay month to month, expect a higher monthly rate than the table, and you won’t see it until checkout.
Is Wix free?
You can build and publish a site for free, but it isn’t a business-ready site. Wix’s help center says a free site lives at an address like siteprefix.wixsite.com/siteaddress, shows “Wix ads” on “every page,” and gets up to 500 MB of storage and 1 GB of bandwidth. You can’t connect your own domain without a paid plan (Wix Help: Upgrading your site; Wix Help: Building a website for free).
Wix’s AI editor, Harmony, is included on every plan, free included (Wix Blog). The AI gives you a starting point. Finishing, publishing and paying for a real domain is where the plans come in.
Which Wix plan do you need for a small business?
For most service businesses that want to take payments or bookings on the site, Core at $29/mo is the floor. Wix’s pricing guide says “a store that takes payments starts with the Core plan at $29 per month,” and the plans page lists “Scheduling and services” on Core and up, not on Light (Wix Blog; Wix plans).
Light ($17/mo) gets you your own domain and removes Wix ads. It’s fine for a simple site where people call you, but it can’t take payments or online bookings.
What does Wix charge on top of the plan?
The plan is the base. Payments, your domain, email and apps can each add a line to the bill.
- Card processing. In the US, Wix Payments charges 2.9% + $0.30 per card payment, 3.7% + $0.30 for American Express and 3.49% + $0.49 for PayPal. A chargeback costs $15, and when you refund a customer, Wix keeps the original processing fee (Wix Help: Wix Payments service fees).
- Business email. “Upgrade plans do not include a business email.” You buy it separately once you have a domain (Wix Help).
- Apps. Some Wix App Market apps are free; Wix says others “require monthly fees ranging from $3 to $20+” (Wix Blog).
- One plan per site. “You must purchase separate Premium plans for different sites” (Wix Help).
- AI credits. Some AI tools, including Smart Chat (Wix’s visitor chatbot), run on monthly credits. Unused credits expire each month, and Wix “reserves the right at any time to change the credit cost” (Wix Help: About AI credits).
Does Wix include a free domain?
For one year, on a yearly plan, and only for a new domain bought from Wix. The voucher comes with “the first-time purchase of a site plan,” has to be used within two months, and isn’t included with monthly plans. It doesn’t cover privacy protection, and Wix asks for your card when you claim it so the domain can renew after the free year (Wix Help: About your free domain voucher).
After year one, you pay Wix’s standard renewal rate for that domain, which varies by extension and shows in your account (Wix Help: Promotions).
Does Wix raise prices at renewal?
Discounts end, and the list price can change. Wix’s help center says promo prices are “valid for the first year/month ONLY. All subsequent renewals are charged at the original price of the plan” (Wix Help). Wix’s customer agreement says plans renew automatically “at the then-current price for the Services (which may be higher or lower than the previous price)” (Wix Customer Agreement).
Timing is worth knowing too. Yearly plans are charged “up to 3 weeks prior to the plan’s expiration date,” with reminder emails starting 30 days before. On monthly plans, “you will not receive an email notification before your subscription renews” (Wix Help: Renewing your plan).
Can you get a refund from Wix?
Yes, in the first 14 days of a new plan, monthly or yearly. Wix’s help center says the 14-day money-back guarantee doesn’t apply to renewals or to upgrading a plan you already have, and refunds can take “up to 45 business days” to process. Domains aren’t covered by the guarantee (Wix Help: Requesting a refund).
If your plan ends, your site isn’t deleted, but it goes back to a free wixsite.com address with Wix ads, and any custom domain is disconnected (Wix Help).
WebZum’s window is longer: every plan, monthly included, has a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you see the finished site free before you pay anything.
What does Wix’s DIY work look like on WebZum?
On Wix you build and keep up the site yourself, with Aria’s help. On WebZum you ask for changes in a chat box, and AI edits aren’t metered by credits. Here’s what we saw on our own demo sites in October 2026. Blue Mesa Auto Repair and Copper Thimble Hair & Nail are WebZum demos, not customer sites.
- A whole site to start. Blue Mesa took about five minutes from the Build click (we measured roughly 298 seconds) to a finished site with a logo, copy, photos and its own page for each main service. The Check Engine Light page came with a local headline, a four-step “how we diagnose” section and a local FAQ, without us asking.
- A new service page. We typed “we fix car ac too, can u add a page for that.” The editor offered an Add Page button, built the AC Repair page and added it to the menu.
- A photo where there was a blank spot. “can u put a pic of a mechanic there” got an Add Photos button. One click, and about 42 seconds later the section had a new AI photo and a matching line of copy. No stock library, no uploads.
- A price list fix. On Copper Thimble, one message moved a hair color service to the right heading and added a $40 blowout and a $55 spa pedicure.
- A chatbot that answers visitors. Every WebZum site comes with one. It answers in a few seconds with the business’s hours and tap-to-call number, offers to take the visitor’s name and number for a callback, and points to the prices page instead of guessing a price.
WebZum sites are static pages served from a content delivery network, with responses around 200 milliseconds, so they load fast on phones and computers alike.
Wix vs WebZum: what does each cost over 36 months?
Here’s the math at today’s US list prices. Wix’s month-to-month rates aren’t on its plans page, so the Wix rows use the yearly plans. It leaves out tax, payment fees, apps and Wix domain renewals after year one.
| Plan | Who builds the site | Listed price | Our math | Cost over 36 months | Own domain | Refund |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ⭐ WebZum Basic | WebZum builds it, you edit by chat | $0 for the preview, then $19/mo | $19 × 36 | $684 | No (WebZum address) | 30 days, every plan |
| ⭐ WebZum Professional | WebZum builds it, you edit by chat | $0 for the preview, then $34/mo | $34 × 36 | $1,224 | Yes, included | 30 days, every plan |
| Wix Light, yearly | You build it | $17/mo, $204 up front each year | $204 × 3 | $612, plus domain renewals in years 2 and 3 | Free year one | 14 days |
| Wix Core, yearly | You build it | $29/mo, $348 up front each year | $348 × 3 | $1,044, plus domain renewals | Free year one | 14 days |
| Wix Business, yearly | You build it | $39/mo, $468 up front each year | $468 × 3 | $1,404, plus domain renewals | Free year one | 14 days |
Sources: WebZum, Wix plans, Wix refund policy (checked October 27–28, 2026).
Wix Light on a yearly plan is the cheapest sticker for a site on your own domain. But you pay a year at a time, you build and write it yourself, and payments and booking wait for Core. WebZum Professional is $34 a month with no yearly lock-in, the domain included, the site already built, and a refund window twice as long.
When should you pick Wix instead?
Pick Wix if you enjoy designing and want hands-on control of every layout, or if you need built-in tools WebZum doesn’t have: an online store, native booking and scheduling, events, courses, or a big app market. Wix has more than 2,000 templates (Wix plans), and for a shop that sells online, Core or Business covers a lot in one place.
Pick WebZum if you mostly need customers to find you, trust you and call, and you’d rather review a finished site than build one.
How do I get a WebZum site?
- Go to webzum.com/free-website and type what your business does, or paste your Google link.
- Answer a few quick questions. The build takes about five minutes.
- Look through your free preview. Change anything by typing it into the chat box, like “add a page for gutter cleaning” or “we’re closed Thanksgiving, put that up top.”
- Pick Basic ($19/mo) or Professional ($34/mo, with your own domain) when you’re ready to keep it.
