TL;DR: If you want your business website built for you, WebZum asks a few questions and builds a finished multi-page site in about five minutes, with copy, photos and a visitor chatbot already on it. You see it free before you pay, then it’s $19/mo (Basic) or $34/mo (Professional, your own domain), month to month, and editing by chat never uses credits. GoDaddy’s website builder is now Airo AI Builder, a chat-based tool you steer yourself: free to try with 50 AI credits a month, and its Starter plan, at $9.99/mo billed yearly, gives you 150 credits a month and lets you publish (GoDaddy, checked October 28, 2026).

What is the GoDaddy website builder now?
It’s Airo AI Builder. GoDaddy’s builder page says that “with a few prompts GoDaddy Website Builder generates your website, web app, pages, databases and logic in minutes,” and the AI “quickly lays out pages, sections, starter copy, and images” (GoDaddy Website Builder). You describe your idea in a chat, then keep refining it by chatting, by clicking and typing in Edit mode, or by changing the code yourself. You can also “export your code anytime” (same source).
GoDaddy sells more than one builder, and its own help center warns about it: “GoDaddy offers several website builders” (GoDaddy Help). If you’ve had a GoDaddy site for years, it may be on an older builder. New sign-ups on the builder page get Airo.
Airo has been changing quickly. In March 2026 GoDaddy said build times “dropped from 14 minutes to under 3,” the agent now “asks clarifying questions before it starts generating your project,” and new Professional and Ultimate plans arrived with “higher published app limits and larger monthly credit allotments” (Airo AI Builder news).
For a roofer or a salon, that means a quick first draft. The pages for each service, the local details and the final polish are still up to you, one prompt at a time.
How much does the GoDaddy website builder cost?
You can start free, but publishing takes a paid plan. GoDaddy’s credits guide puts it plainly: “The free plan includes 50 free credits every month. The Starter plan ($9.99/mo annual) includes 150 credits every month,” and “Publishing your site requires an active paid plan” (GoDaddy credits guide). At $9.99 a month billed yearly, Starter is $119.88 up front for the year.
A few details that change the real price:
- Your own domain needs a paid plan. To connect one, GoDaddy says you need a “Paid Airo AI Builder plan” and a published site (GoDaddy Help).
- Features vary by plan. GoDaddy’s publishing guide notes that “availability of Airo AI Builder features varies by plan” (GoDaddy Help), and Professional and Ultimate cost more for more credits and more published sites.
- Extra credits cost extra. You can “add a 250-credit pack ($24.99) without changing your subscription,” and each pack is “valid for one year after purchase” (GoDaddy credits guide).
How do GoDaddy Airo AI credits work?
Every message to the AI agent spends credits, and your allowance resets monthly. GoDaddy’s guide says “AI credits power every agent message” and that “a prompt sends a message to the AI agent and uses a credit” (GoDaddy credits guide).
What spends credits, per that same guide:
- Building and adding pages, design and layout changes, adding features, and rewriting or generating copy.
- Not spent: text and image edits you make yourself in Edit mode, uploading your own photos, and restoring an old version. GoDaddy’s help center adds publishing, connecting a domain and editing code to the free list (GoDaddy Help).
The rules worth knowing before you start:
- Credits don’t roll over. “Monthly plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and don’t carry forward” (GoDaddy credits guide).
- When they run out, the AI stops. “You cannot send new agent prompts until credits are available again.” Your published site stays live and Edit mode still works (same source).
- You won’t see a meter while you work. “There is no credit counter in the editor toolbar.” Your balance lives on the Manage My Plan page (same source).
- Vague prompts cost more. GoDaddy’s own advice is that “vague follow-up prompts are where credits disappear,” and Airo will ask clarifying questions when your prompt is missing “business name, customer, services, geography, or scope” (same source).
None of this is hidden. GoDaddy publishes a whole guide on stretching credits. It does mean you’re the one writing the prompts, and the quality of your site depends on how well you do it.
Is the GoDaddy website builder free?
Free to build, not free to publish. The builder page says “Start for free with 50 AI credits a month. No credit card required” (GoDaddy Website Builder), and the credits guide says publishing needs “an active paid plan” (GoDaddy credits guide).
Can you get a refund on GoDaddy Airo?
Only if you haven’t used it. GoDaddy’s refund policy says annual plans that include AI credits are refundable within 30 days “as long as no AI Credits given as part of the plan have been consumed and no AI-generated content has been downloaded or exported, otherwise the subscription becomes non-refundable.” For monthly plans the window is 48 hours, with the same condition. Credit packs bought separately are non-refundable (GoDaddy refund policy, read October 28, 2026).
In practice, the first time you ask Airo to change something on your paid plan, the refund is gone. WebZum’s 30-day money-back guarantee covers every plan, and you see the finished site before you pay anything.
What does a done-for-you AI builder do differently?
It writes the prompts for you, in a sense: you answer a few questions about your business and get the finished site, then ask for changes in plain words without watching a balance. Here are two of our own demo sites, recorded on screen in October 2026. Blue Mesa Auto Repair and Golden Rye Bakery & Cafe are WebZum demos, not customer sites.
- The build. For Blue Mesa, an auto shop in Albuquerque, we answered a few questions and pressed Build. About five minutes later (we measured roughly 298 seconds) there was a finished site with a logo, written copy, photos and several pages.
- A page for each service, unprompted. Brake Repair, Check Engine Light and Oil Changes & Maintenance each got their own page. The Check Engine Light page came with a local headline, a four-step “How We Diagnose” section, a local FAQ and a call button.
- A new page from one sloppy text. “we fix car ac too, can u add a page for that” brought back an Add Page button. About a minute after one click there was an AC Repair page, and the menu was rebuilt to include it.
- A photo by asking. “can u put a pic of a mechanic there” brought an Add Photos button, and about 42 seconds later the section had a new photo and a matching line of copy.
- A chatbot that answers like the business. On Golden Rye’s site on October 28, a visitor asked “can i still order a pie for thanksgiving.” The chatbot answered from the bakery’s own announcement (order by November 22) and said to call if that date had passed. Asked about pumpkin pie, it said only a seasonal apple pie is listed and suggested calling, rather than making one up.
None of those edits drew down credits, because WebZum doesn’t have them. Ask by chat as often as you need, and the price stays the same.
GoDaddy Airo vs WebZum: what does each cost over 36 months?
Plain math at today’s US list prices, before taxes and domain renewals. GoDaddy’s pages we checked don’t print a renewal price, so the Starter row assumes $9.99/mo holds.
| Plan | Who builds the site | Listed price | Cost over 36 months | AI meter | Refund |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ⭐ WebZum Basic | WebZum builds it, you edit by chat (WebZum address) | $0 for the preview, then $19/mo | $684 | No credits, ever | 30 days, every plan |
| ⭐ WebZum Professional | WebZum builds it, on your own domain | $0 for the preview, then $34/mo | $1,224 | No credits, ever | 30 days, every plan |
| GoDaddy Airo Free | You steer it by prompts | $0 | $0, but you can’t publish | 50 credits a month | n/a |
| GoDaddy Airo Starter | You steer it by prompts | $9.99/mo, billed yearly | $359.64, plus any $24.99 credit packs | 150 credits a month, no rollover | 30 days, only if no credits used |

GoDaddy Starter is the smaller number. WebZum’s price buys the finished product: a site written for your business with AI photos and a header video, service pages you didn’t have to ask for, a chatbot already answering visitors, fast pages served from a content delivery network, and edits that never run out. You pay month to month, with nothing up front.
When should you pick GoDaddy instead?
Pick GoDaddy Airo if you enjoy building by prompting, want the lowest yearly price, or need more than a business website: a web app with its own database, an online store with GoDaddy Payments, or code you can export and host elsewhere (GoDaddy Website Builder). It’s also handy if your domain and email already live at GoDaddy.
Pick WebZum if you mostly need customers to find you, trust you and call, and you’d rather review a finished site than write prompts for one.
How do I get a WebZum site?
- Go to webzum.com/free-website and type what your business does, or paste your Google link.
- Answer a few quick questions. The build takes about five minutes.
- Look through your free preview. Change anything by typing it into the chat box, like “add a page for gutter cleaning” or “make the colors navy and orange.”
- Pick Basic ($19/mo) or Professional ($34/mo, with your own domain) when you’re ready to keep it.
